The 2 door 4 seat Convertible is build by Van Rijswijk from Den Haag the Netherlands , one of the coachbuilding companies from the period before the war, who also build a Spyker in 1912 for the Royal family.
This car was sold new to Mr Van Wonderen who lived in Bergen (the Netherlands) registered with the number GZ-54457 after the war the car get a new number NK-67-53 and was registered by Mr Kerkwijk from Velp and get a new owner in 1956 Mr Ploeg from Oosterbeek.
In 1971 this car was bought by the previous owner from Mr Wagenaar and he brought it to his Chateau in France where it was stored for decades in the Coach-house
It’s not rare that Lancia choose for the van Rijswijk company , the where both based in The Hague and shared a stall and the RAI car exhibition in 1938.
This is not the only known Lancia build by them , we know an Augusta and the last car they build was a very attractive Aprilia Roadster.
Please have a closer look to the shape of the front wings , the nose and louvres of the bonnet, this was not a cheap car to buy , just before the outbreak of world war 2!
We did some research on the car and I think this car was on the 1938 “Auto Tentoonstelling” Show at the Amsterdam RAI.
The engine was rebuild by the previous owner and I got it running. It’s a complete restoration project.
